Call for Volunteers
Summary
Student volunteers are needed for Hot Chips at Stanford University one day prior to the start of the conference and through to the end.
Please contact volunteer@hotchips.org to express interest.
Details
Since 1989, Hot Chips has been one of the semiconductor industry’s leading conferences on high-performance microprocessors and related integrated circuits.
Hot Chips is sponsored by IEEE and members of the organizing, program, and steering committee are all volunteers. The conference also has student volunteers who help with logistics during the conference itself.
Volunteers receive complimentary registration for the entire conference, along with shirt(s) with Hot Chips logo, and a volunteer appreciate dinner at the close of the conference.
In exchange, volunteers are expected to attend the entire conference (all days) as well as the set up the day before from 12 to 5 PM. During the conference itself volunteers are expected to be available to help with logistics such staff registration desk and helping with food for breaks and lunch. This typically takes about 1/3 of a volunteer’s time, leaving the remaining 2/3rds available for attending conference presentations and networking with other attendees during breaks.
Graduate students in CS/CE/EE are preferred but any student who is interested in computer architecture is encouraged to apply. There are also volunteer opportunities for retirees to volunteer. However, individuals who are actively working in industry are typically expected to register as regular attendees rather than as volunteers.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact the volunteer coordinator, at volunteer@hotchips.org. Include a brief statement about your background and why you want to volunteer for Hot Chips along with resume or link to your LinkedIn profile.
